She began by designing interiors for residential and commercial spaces. It is important to establish the fact that Sophie’s vision to own her own interior design business was born while she was heading up the designers’ relations team at Swarovski where she was working with designers in fashion, stage and screen, lighting, jewelry, and product design.

Running her own business has also earned her the privilege of being appointed as a senior in-house designer for Ventura Design which has a flagship showroom at the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour.

The producers of the show opted not to renew the series for a fourth season and to date, Sophie’s involvement in Ladies of London remains her sole gig in a reality television series.

Prior to that, the CEO was married to Alex Stanbury, who is the brother of fellow Ladies of London star Caroline Stanbury. The former couple was introduced to each other by Caroline in what was meant to be a passing fling, as Caroline herself later admitted.

Nevertheless, their time together became more than they anticipated and they ended up getting married. Their marriage produced 2 sons, Harry and Finn Stanbury before they called time on the union in 2017.

Born Alexander George Basil Stanbury on September 30, 1978, Sophie Stanbury’s ex-husband is currently the CEO of Black River Petroleum Corp, a Nashville-based company in the oil and gas sector. He has been in this position since the tail end of 2012 but has held many high executive positions prior to donning his current mantle.

He is also the President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director of American Copper Corp., a position he has held since December 17, 2012. Before that, he served as Associate Director with the London-based investment bank Dawnay, Day Corporate Finance Limited.

Alex comes from an old-money empire. He is an heir to the influential Vestey family. His dad, Anthony David Stanbury is an investment banker while his mom Elizabeth Alice Beale is a businesswoman.

Sophie expanded her portfolio in 2020 to include utilizing her well-honed interior design skills across a number of UK projects for a successful Dublin-based company, which specializes in a turn-key service for projects across the residential and commercial sectors.
