Zayas has Dominican roots but was born and raised in New York

Born on the 14th of May 1990 in Brooklyn, New York, The L Word: Generation Q alum spent her growing up years within the Ozone Park region. There is a dearth of information about her family, but according to the actress, they hail from the Dominican Republic and had to split their time between their home country and New York but later settled in Queens. Zayas also mentioned that her family is not an affluent one, thus, growing up was a bit hard. After she was done with undergrad, the New Yorker sought admission into Juilliard where she completed grad school. According to the actress, she spent her time there doing different programs from time to time. Thus when she eventually surfaced on the acting scene, Zayas was no newcomer to the performing arts as she already acquired a lot of professional training in the field.

She commenced her acting career on stage before her screen debut in Three of One Kind

Zayas’s role in the L Word was a bit different from what she is used to as they allowed her to bring in some imputes. What is normal is for actors to score roles in both TV and movies to work with whatever is already on the ground. However, fortunately for Sophie Suarez’s role, things were a bit flexible. Zayas was lucky to bring in some ideas on the best way to portray her character. Thanks to this, Rossany felt a bit more connected to the plot as she tells Sophie’s story.

The entertainer’s most recent gig is a production that is already completed; she acted in the role of Alicia Vasquez in the movie Modern Persuasion (2020). Rosanny Zayas has one project in the post-production stage, the mini-series Angelyne which is expected to be released in 2020.
