Russaw’s parents were introduced to each other in 1997, and at the time they eventually started dating, his mother was still married to the late Notorious B.I.G (real name: Christopher Lattore Wallace), a union that lasted for three years from 1994 to 1997, the same year B.I.G was murdered by as-yet-unknown people.

Joshua’s parents exchanged marital vows in 1998 and remained married for a relatively long time before going their separate ways in 2011 after 13 years of marriage. As previously mentioned, Joshua is not his parents’ only child. He has a younger brother named Ryder Evans Russaw. Ryder is on the autism spectrum and is most likely the inspiration behind his mother’s decision to form a foundation known as Ryder’s Room Inc. to advocate for children with autism.

Aside from Ryder, Joshua has two older half-siblings, a half-brother named Christopher Wallace Jr. and a half-sister named Chyna Tahjere Griffin from his mother’s previous relationships. Christopher Wallace Jr. was born during Faith Evans’s first marriage to the late Notorious B.I.G. but before that, she was already Chyna’s mother through her relationship with renowned music producer Kiyamma Griffin.
