Shannon Whirry was born on November 7, 1964, in the United States of America, precisely in Green Lake, Wisconsin. The actress is currently 59 years old. An American by nationality, Whirry’s ethnic background is believed to be White.

Shannon Whirry is the daughter of Russell Clyde Whirry. Though the details of his professional life are not known, Russell is already late. Shannon’s dad was born in 1943 and died in 1988. Her mom on the other hand has been identified as Sherrill (née Giese); she is still alive but nothing is known about her.

Growing up in Green Lake, Wisconsin, Shannon Whirry attended both elementary and high school in the region. She recorded some academic milestones in her school, graduating in 1993 as the salutatorian among her set.

During her time, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts received 3000 applications but only admitted 365 and Whirry made the list. After joining the 2-year program, only 65 out of the admitted students graduated; again, her name was on the list. She completed her studies in the art school sometime in the mid-1980s.

Trying to find her feet in New York, Whirry started taking on some menial jobs to make ends meet. This led her to work in some eateries as a waitress and bartender. It was also during this period that she started scoring some minor roles in television commercials, notable among them is her gigs with FedEx and Bio Spot. Through these ads and minor roles, she was able to join the Screen Actors Guild which saw the actress launch her career as a stage performer.

Her professional acting career began in Off-Broadway productions

Shannon kick-started her acting career in theatre as a performer in Off-Broadway productions. In the course of her acting career, the American actress has appeared on the sets of both Saturday Night Live and One Life to Live. As a professional in stage productions, she performed in Nearly Naked Theatre in Phoenix in the United States of America in January 2008.

Shannon Whirry started her onscreen career on the big screen in 1991, portraying Terry Malloy on the set of the film, Out for Justice, and made her small screen debut the next year, playing Lola in the TV series, Santa Barbara. Four years later, the celebrated actress scored her breakout role in the movie, Ringer where she breathed life into the character of Kristin in 1996. Between 1994 and 1996, Whirry appeared in 16 productions, including films and television shows.

The actress’ best-known TV series to date is Mike Hammer, Private Eye which she joined in 1997. Shannon stayed with the cast for one year, playing the role of Velda in 26 episodes. She eventually left the series in 1998.
