When was Angie Harmon born?

Born in 1972, Harmon is a native of Texas as she was born in Highland Park, Texas. She comes from a mixed ethnic background comprising of German, Irish, English, Scottish, Welsh, and remote Dutch roots from her dad’s side of the family but her mom is of Greek descent.

Angie is the daughter of two top models – her dad, Larry Harmon, and mom Daphne Caravageli made waves during the 1970s while working in Dallas as models. At a point in his career life, Larry was the face of A-list firms like Sanger-Harris, Mary Kay cosmetics, and Kouros cologne man. Larry Harmon worked as a hospital executive later in life.

Growing up in Texas, Angie passed through Highland Park High School located in University Park, Texas, and graduated in 1990. There is no record of any further academic qualifications for the American actress cum model.

She commenced her career as a model

Angie Harmon was just 15 when she started her modeling career. She emerged as the winner of Seventeen magazine’s cover model contest.

As the 1990s were ushered in, Angie gained fame as an A-list model working and walking for high-end fashion and cosmetics brands. She had the likes of Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, and Donna Karan under her belt. She also did some modeling gigs in the print media like Charlotte.

It was during this time that the actress got involved in philanthropic activities in the US.

Angie later moved into acting

Angie Harmon started scoring acting roles in 1995 when she was featured in a single episode of the TV series, Renegade as Debbie Prentice. She also appeared in one episode of Baywatch, playing Ryan McBride in 1997 before the sequel, Baywatch Nights promoted her to a series regular where she recorded appearances in 44 episodes.

Her first movie role was witnessed in 1997 when the actress depicted the character of Pamela ‘Pam’ Gregory on the set of Lawn Dogs. The same year, she scored a gig to appear in 13 episodes of C-16: FBI as Amanda Reardon – the role lasted for one year from 1997 to 1998. Angie was the ADA Abigail ‘Abbie’ Carmichael we saw in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in six episodes that spanned from 1999 to 2000 and before the end of 2000, she was featured as the voice of Commissioner Barbara Gordon in Batman Beyond.

The prolific movie star reprised her Babara Gordon voice role in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker in 2000. Between 1998 and 2001, she played ADA Abbie Carmichael in 72 episodes of Law & Order. Harmon’s best-known work has remained Rizzoli & Isles – a most-watched television series where the American movie and TV actress played the title character, Jane Rizzoli in 105 episodes from 2010 to 2016.

Angie has turned out to be quite prolific in her movie roles and today, she can boast of over 28 acting credits. However, the Texan is best known for her appearances in productions like Law & Order, Seraphim Falls, Agent Cody Banks, and Rizzoli & Isles.

Angie Hammon has been married and divorced

Angie Harmon was on the set of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno when the man who would later become her husband popped the big question. Angie was ignorant of the fact that both her dad and boyfriend, Jason Sehorn were behind the scene on the same show.

In the meantime, Leno quizzed the actress about her current relationship status to which she maintained tight lips, then, suddenly, New York Giants footballer, Jason burst onto the stage and went on bended knee to ask for her hand in marriage but the drama didn’t end there. Her dad, Larry who was also behind the scene came in to give them his fatherly blessings after Angie responded with a yes! It was later revealed that the entire show was a secret arrangement between Jason and the producers of The Tonight Show.

The duo eventually tied the knot on the 9th of June 2001 and went on to have three children – all girls, Finley, Avery, and Emery.

However, their union came to an end in 2018. When quizzed about the reason for their split, the couple revealed that their relationship was largely disturbed by distance. There were occasions when their jobs would take them away from each other for six months at a stretch and it wasn’t doing their marriage any good. Thus, the best thing was for them to go their separate ways.
