So where is Janis Hansen now? Find out all the gist on the former screen beauty in a bit.
Background details
Janis Ann Hansen is currently 84 years old. She was born on June 14, 1940, and hails from Jamestown, Chautauqua County in New York. Janis is an American citizen from the Caucasian race and was born under the Gemini zodiac sun sign. She was born to Roger Hansen and Jeanette Hansen. Her father worked as an accountant in a local bank in town while her mother’s occupation was never revealed. The most probable speculation is that her mother was a housewife as was typical of women in those days.
Janis had an older sister, Sheryn Rae, who was about three years older. When they were both only a couple of years old, their family moved to Lakewood, and that’s where they were eventually raised. There is no mention of any other siblings of Janis’s on the internet. Alongside her sister, Janis obtained a high school education at Southwestern High School in Jamestown, New York, and graduated in 1958; her sister matriculated three years earlier.
There is a blank space where information about Janis Hansen’s college education should be. Her acting career took off quickly, lending credence to the possibility that she never attended any. Still, her (possible) lack of tertiary education had nothing on how eloquent and well-spoken Janis was as an actress. Physically, during her prime, she was a 5-foot-six petite, light-haired woman and was the perfect prototype of a showbiz beauty.
Janis Hansen began her career as an actress
Soon after Janis got out of high school, she got a job briefly as a Playboy model. During her time with Playboy, however, there are no reports about whether she ever made Playboy bunny of the month/year. In 1963, at the age of 23, she auditioned for Broadway. She soon appeared on the short comedy Broadway show, The Riot Act from March to April 1963.
The show featured many other bright talents, including veterans like Ruth Donnelly, Dorothy Stickney, and Sylvia Miles, and younger actresses like Linda Lavin. Janis began to make her transition to television in the early 1970s. She made appearances in big-budget shows like The Big Valley (1965) and The Odd Couple (1970). The Big Valley was one of the most popular American Western drama television series of the late sixties.
It ran on the American Broadcasting Company Network (ABC) for a total of four seasons from September 15, 1965, to May 19, 1969. Apart from Hansen, the show featured other top-rated actors like Barbara Stanwyck, Richard Long, Lee Majors, Peter Breck, and Linda Evans. The Odd Couple, created by Neil Simons, is an ABC sitcom television series. The comedy show aired from September 24, 1970, through March 7, 1975.
Hansen played the role of Gloria on the show, Felix Unger’s (Tony Randall) ex-wife. Moving on to other roles played by Hansen, she appeared in onscreen projects like Bonanza, Gidget, It Takes a Thief, and The FBI, appearing in two separate episodes of the series 5th season. She also recorded appearances in I Dream of Jeannie, Airport (1970) where she played Sister Katherine Grace, among so many others.

What happened to Janis Hansen?
At 84, there is no doubt that Janis is already very aged. Yet, this hasn’t stopped her from working as far as reports are concerned. The retired actress swapped a career in front of the cameras for one behind and became a movie producer. In 2022, she released her debut movie as a producer and it’s titled Take Out. It looks like not even old age can stop Janis Hansen from doing whatever she is determined to do.
Still, she has chosen to live her life quietly away from all the glitz and noise of the showbiz industry.
