Kevin Bigley was born in Yuba City, California

Kevin Bigley was born to Jeffery Bigley (father) and Jean Hawes (mother) on the 5th of October 1986 in Yuba City of California, USA. Despite being quite famous, information about his siblings is not known as the actor kept his family life secret and away from the prying eyes of the public.

It is assumed that Bigley spent his formative years in his place of birth with his family but when it was time for college, he opted for a school in Chicago where he honed his skills in the performing arts.

He studied at DePaul University, Chicago

According to information gathered, the actor did his primary and high school in a local institute. He went further in his education and enrolled in DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, where he studied acting and started performing in Theatre. In the course of his education in acting, he learned how to perfect his acting skills. Although while in school, Kevin was bullied a lot, and most of the time he would use his comedy skills to get back at them. For him, comedy was a defense mechanism.

Bigley started his acting career in theatre

The popular actor kick-started his career by acting in theatre in Chicago. His first role was to play Henry in Henry V in an Evanston, IL production of Shakespeare in the Park after which he moved on to play George Bailey in American Theatre Company’s radio play titled It’s a Wonderful Life.

Going further at Profiles Theatre located in Chicago he played the role of Chris Smith in Tracy Letts’ Killer Joe and also performed at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theater in the play A Separate Peace. In 2009, Kevin made his screen debut in the movie titled The Survivor,  playing the character of a Vampire, and also made an appearance in his very first TV show Matadors.

In 2010, the actor made a change of location to Los Angeles where he took up other jobs aside from acting, including catering for a Jerry Springer game show on GSN Baggage. This was after he had worked with actor Vince Vaughn on a TV pilot. In 2011, he got a role in Vaughn’s movie titled Dilemma playing the role of a bank customer and has since gone ahead to appear in many other TV series like CSI: Miami, Chicago Code, and many more.

The actor’s big break happened when he starred in the US Network series Sirens

The actor’s rise to fame began when he was featured in the USA Network series Sirens portraying the character Brian Czyk which has been his most recognizable role. Furthermore, Kevin was featured in the animated epic comedy Angry Birds as the character Grey Blue and in 2020 he was featured as a recurring character ‘Luke’ in an Amazon original science-fiction comedy.

The entertainer who has been featured in various movies and portrayed different characters has also been on various TV shows. In 2013, he made a guest appearance in the TV show ‘Bones’ and was also in the American police comedy TV show Brooklyn Nine-Nine as officer Deetmore and many other shows like The Good Wife in 2015, Delinquent in 2016, Screams Queens in 2016, etc.

The actor, besides acting, is also a writer

Kevin Bigley, besides acting, also has another passion which is writing. He displayed this passion of his when he wrote the sports section for his university’s paper and has gone further to write different short stories which have been published in magazines such as Maudlin House and X-Ray Literature.

The ‘Sirens’ star has written his own novel titled Commaville which was published by Clash Books in 2020. The novel is all focused on a man who was in a comma and trapped in a particular memory. Kevin found love with someone in the same profession as him. He got hitched to Kate Cobb who is also into acting and is quite popular in her own way. She is not only an actress but is also a producer by profession. Some popular projects Kate has featured in are Shameless, Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, etc.

Kevin and Kate met each other while they were at DePaul University in 2012 and after dating for two years, the couple finally got married on November 8th, 2014. Together, they have been featured in a comedy series titled Parked by Funny or Die.
