Apart from his best-known film, the American actor is recognized as the son of moviemaker, Tony Severio. Chris went on to appear in a handful of cameo roles, including stunt work in his dad’s movie Rugaru, in a supporting role as Blake. He was featured alongside Randall Oliver and Joe Estevez in the lead.

His next notable role occurred on the set of the Christopher Leone-directed production Suit Up – a Fox Digital Studio series where he breathed life into the character of the Beer Knight. The series starred industry greats like Marc Evan Jackson and Barry Corbin. After the series became a resounding success, Fox decided to launch a follow-up season, featuring Chris in the Beer Knight character for the second time.

Perhaps Suit Up was what ushered in Christopher Severio’s best-known role to date; he scored the lead role of Brandon Burlsworth in the David Hunt-directed movie, Greater. He shared the screen with A-listers like Neal McDonough, Michael Parks, Leslie Easterbrook, and Nick Searcy.

Chris has since been cast in another of his dad’s movies, Heinous – a horror film where he depicted the character of a father to a young girl. He has three stunt credits in Heinous, Rugaru, and Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown.

Christopher Severio’s role in Greater is based on a true story

The movie Greater chronicles the life, career, and death of Brandon Burlsworth – a former Arkansas offensive tackle. Though Brandon was initially written off by his coaches and teammates, his doggedness and determination launched the rising star into a sublime league in football and by 1999 he was listed as a star footballer in the toughest conference in collegiate football and was also named All-American. As if that was not enough, Burlsworth became an NFL early draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts.

What was described as one of the biggest tragedies in the history of the NFL happened 11 days later when the new pick died in a tragic accident. This happened before he even got to sign on dotted lines with the Colts.

Christopher Severio got the role of Brandon Burlsworth out of sheer luck as he was never interested in playing football during his days in school and never heard about Burlsworth prior to his role.

The role of Brandon’s mum Barbar was played by Leslie Easterbrook and Marty, Brandon’s big brother who became a father figure after their parent’s divorce was played by Neal McDonough.
